From August-September 2014 the Treasury consulted on a draft Industry Code for the Food and Grocery sector

Submissions closed on Friday 12 September 2014 (33 submissions were received). A consultation paper, explanatory statement, fact sheet and draft code are all available from the above website.

On 2 March 2015 the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 - Competition and Consumer (Industry Codes - Food and Grocery) Regulation 2015 was tabled in Parliament. This has prompted a Senate inquiry into the regulation (commencing 5 March). The short inquiry will report on 31 March 2015.
